A generous cylindrical seat in warm color sits on a black circular pedestal base — the orb form giving the chair its planetary presence and its name — while two substantial wood arm panels curve around the seat on each side with the sculptural authority of a frame that holds without constraining. Above, a wide curved backrest in the same warm linen appears to float — separated from the seat by a row of vertical black metal slats that give the chair its most considered architectural detail, the slatted gap creating both the visual lightness and the structural resolve of a piece that has thought about every junction.
