Mian Lounge chair

Two colours. One frame. A strap that changes everything.
There are lounge chairs where the colour is incidental and there are lounge chairs where the colour is the design — where the decision to put brick red beside blush parchment, to let the two tones meet at the inner edge of the arm without blending or bleeding, creates a composition as considered as any material pairing in the room. The Mian was designed around that composition. A warm gold tubular frame arches over each arm in a continuous, generous curve — the same sand tone bridging the two upholstery colours with the quiet authority of a material that belongs between them — while a horizontal strap in the same gold fastens across the lower outer arm with the considered detail of a saddler’s craft: a buckled strap on a chair arm, the luggage reference that gives the Mian its most unexpected and most memorable detail.
Blush parchment gives the interior surfaces the calm warmth of a colour chosen to make the sitting feel unhurried — the light tone filling the seat and backrest with the particular quality of a fabric that catches the morning light gently. Brick red gives the outer arm panels and the back of the chair the saturated confidence of a colour chosen without hesitation — deep enough to give the room the character it deserves, warm enough to belong beside the gold frame and the blush within. A lounge chair designed in India, for the home that understands the most considered rooms are always the ones where the colour was as carefully chosen as the form — and where one unexpected detail, a strap across an arm, carries the entire spirit of the piece.
