A single bottle green leatherite covers every surface of the chair — the two flat panel sides that curve from the floor to hold the seat, the generous seat cushion, and the continuous horseshoe backrest that rises and wraps from one side across the back and down the other in one uninterrupted arc — the entire chair in one material, one tone, and entirely resolved. The open horseshoe form of the backrest gives the Shello its most extraordinary silhouette — the space within the arc as considered as the arc itself, the opening giving the chair a lightness that the substantial flat panel base makes all the more surprising.
